Nilo table (compatible as Lego Duplo Table) Construction and Design

Construction. Nilo tables (compatible as Lego Duplo tables) are built from solid hardwood with a thick multi-use melamine top. We have customers who bought tables in 1992 that are still in daily use today.

Ergonomic. Our tables sit at 19″ to the tabletop surface, which lets a child comfortably seat their legs underneath. Longer leg kits are available so the table grows with your child. Both 24″ and 30″ leg sets are stocked.

Creativity. The 1 1/4″ raised border keeps Lego blocks, Duplo blocks, and other manipulatives on the table while a child plays. Our puzzle-fit corners make assembly straightforward, and they finish the table cleanly. A straight allen tool ships with the table so you can use a power drill to speed up assembly.

Versatility. The white double-sided melamine tabletop wipes clean and works for almost any activity. Layer on our double-sided baseplates (compatible as Lego Duplo base plates), add table-specific accessories, or convert the large play table into a low coffee table with the Nilo dining topper. It fits playrooms, living rooms, and shared family spaces.

Lego Duplo use on our Nilo Multi-Use Tables

For Lego and Duplo play, we make our Nilo double-sided baseplates (compatible as Lego Duplo base plates). Each panel is 12″ x 32″, semi-rigid, with a Lego-compatible surface on one side and a Duplo-compatible surface on the other. You get both surfaces in one panel, for less than the price of buying two separate baseplates from other brands.

A removable baseplate beats a permanent Lego-only tabletop. The Nilo tabletop is white multi-use melamine, which is easy to clean, durable, and suitable for almost any activity short of sand and water. You then drop a Nilo baseplate on top to play with either the Lego or Duplo side.

You can start a Lego or Duplo project on the baseplate, lift the baseplate (project and all) off the table, use the table for something else, then bring the baseplate back later and keep building.

With other tables, the tabletop is fixed as a Lego surface and the table has no other use. Duplo blocks do not work well on a Lego surface either, so a separate Duplo surface is required for Duplo play.

And because the baseplates are removable, you can wash them in the sink, which is not possible with a fixed Lego tabletop. Nilo baseplates (compatible as Lego Duplo base plates) come in green and blue.

Nilo Building Block Table (Compatible as Lego Table) Height Options

As mentioned above, our standard table leg height is 18.5″, and 19″ to the tabletop surface. We offer two play table sizes, Large and Small. Two Nilo baseplates fill the small table and four baseplates fill the large play table.

Both sizes ship in two configurations: with accessory holes in the framing, or without accessory holes.

The large play table has a 32″ x 48″ play area. The small play table has a 24″ x 32″ play area. Choose the holes version if you plan to use Nilo accessories that mount into the framing.
